20 kHz driver update

Evo-Lite's 5-in-1 Dimmable LED Driver product line continues to be a massive hit with the lighting industry. The universal dimming architecture truly simplifies the guesswork of lighting system controls. As we always strive to evolve lighting technology, we've made a minor but exciting update to the entire 5-in-1 product line.

About the new update

These LED drivers now offer a 20Khz (20,000Hz) output frequency. Have you ever looked through a digital camera at a TV, computer monitor, or other LED light source? Typically, these devices will flicker and be very difficult to photograph or capture on video. This new product advancement provides flicker-free operation to your lighting system. You will no longer see disruptive flickering effects when taking photos or videos of connected lights.

LED lighting systems have a refresh rate the same way that TV screens do. The screen (or LEDs) refreshes at such a fast rate that it is impossible to see with the naked eye. Digital cameras similarly capture images. The two refresh rates of the devices can clash and cause flickering. Now that we've upped the 5-in-1's frequency output to 20,000Hz, the refresh rate is so fast that it is unnoticeable to digital cameras.

Backlit elements can be incredibly interesting – capturing the attention of anyone who comes across them. In today's world, with such easy access to high-quality cameras on our smartphones, it's fantastic that capturing these projects is now easier than ever and flicker-free! This advancement is excellent news for commercial spaces and entertainment venues where lighting is often used to set the tone and atmosphere (think Meow Wolf and concert halls).
