Notes:
At the Renaissance Albany, you'll find yourself in the heart of New York's capital, surrounded by the historic charm of the DeWitt Clinton Hotel. This landmark seamlessly blends old-world elegance—featuring rich dark wood paneling and striking marble floors—with contemporary design elements that enhance both convenience and style.
One of these modern features is the unique egg-shaped reception and check-in desk, a tribute to The Egg, the iconic performing arts venue at Empire State Plaza. To bring this innovative hotel design concept to life, Cauhaus Design first sent a foam egg as a tangible representation of the final vision. Once the CAD files and shop drawings were approved, surfaceLAB fabricated custom fiberglass egg shells lined with casework, set atop a uniquely crafted LG Hi-Macs solid surface base. This thoughtful integration of architectural lighting and solid surface fabrication adds a dynamic visual element, seamlessly merging artistry with function.
