An architect introduced the backlight images process to the AvalonBay group as a compelling option for the illuminated reception desk at their Ballard, Washington, community. Once the graphics were finalized, surfaceLAB brought the vision to life, crafting the desk and backlit image feature primarily from brown and translucent Corian.
Beyond its striking visual appeal, the internally illuminated desk was engineered with a long-lasting LED lighting system. Designed to function as a standout lobby feature even when not in use, the desk remains illuminated 24/7—providing a maintenance-free solution for an impressive ten years.
